Son Of A...

...Rabbi

That's right, this is what a son of a Rabbi looks like!
Already learning, such a Talmid Chacham, wise student!

I am so proud of Y! He has been working very very hard over the past year towards this. He studied really hard and completed a 12 hour exam and now...Y is a Rabbi!!
Y I ♥ you and am so proud of you!

this kid sits

wow sitting has changed everything. CNY is now very interested in being independent now. he loves to sit by himself and play with his toys.

watching a baby sit is amazing, babies have such perfect posture. when do we loose that good posture? Y thinks its from going to school and sitting behind a desk for so long. who knows! but we can all learn a lot from babies.

Hot Hot Hot

We are having a heat wave and it is SO HOT!!! I don't usually drink coffee but this just sounded so good and refreshing.

The electric company requested that people don't use their air conditioning between 12-5. I wonder how many people actually did that in this 100+ degree weather. We are in summer!

Gifts

It was my mom's birthday we had a photo shoot for her.

Happy Birthday!

Welcome To The Tribe

Introducing......

Chayim Natan Yisrael

A BIG name for a little man. The Bris was a very emotional day for me, we initiated our baby boy into the tribe and gave him his name. While I was pregnant my maternal grandfather passed away and we had discussed that if the baby was a boy then we would most likely name him after my grandfather, Chayim Yisrael. After the baby was born we knew this would be his name. There is an idea that parents get ruach hakodesh (divine inspiration) in deciding the name of their child, we really saw this because the day before the bris both Y and I had the idea separately to also give our son one of Y's paternal grandfather's names, he was Natan Alter, so we chose the Natan. And there we have it, Chayim Natan Yisrael, Israel gives life or we give life to Israel!!!

Mazal Tov!

Happy Birthday

The Birth Question

Another inspiring article from Channa Jenny Weisberg!
The Birth Question

The countdown

Tomorrow is our EDD (estimated due date), for the most part everything is ready for baby to arrive. I thought maybe I was having contractions a few days ago but well we are still here together as one unit. I keep asking baby when s/he is going to come out and meet us, but well no answer yet. Just waiting...

I am trying to take this waiting time and get more things done around the house that need to get done. B"H my mom is here and has really been helping me a lot. Thank you MOM!!!!

My belly is definitely getting lower so baby must be on the way, just don't know if it will be a day or two now or a week or two, I am hoping for the earlier option. My midsection is getting increasingly uncomfortable, but as everyone keeps telling me it is all worth it! I cannot wait to find out! All I can do now is wait...

the never ending laundry pile

Thank God laundry isn't like this anymore. Every time I complain about our HE (high efficiency) European washing machine, I need to just remember that laundry could still take 3 hours to do, but would be much more labor intensive than sorting, scooping detergent, choosing a setting, and pressing the on button.

There always seems to be laundry to do, well and dishes to wash, but that is for another day.
Today I finished washing all the baby stuff that we have (not that it is very much) in preperation for the LO (little one) to arrive. I am now sitting amongst piles and piles of baby blankets, burp cloths, onsies, socks and sleep gowns, all so tiny and adorable.
Now is the difficult part, choosing which blanket to bring with to the hospital. Today I also began to pack my hospital bag, I know I still have time, but I figure with Pesach coming so soon, why not just get it over with and pack it. Still need to work on a playlist for my iPod or at least a CD for the "birthday". So glad Y and I have already picked out what outfit the LO is going to wear home from the hospital. It is an adorable yellow and cream outfit with a super cute cream hat I knitted for him/her.

I can't believe I still don't' know what this baby is. Y doesn't want to know, and well how can I know and not tell him?! I am SO curious!!! Not too much longer to wait now, just a little over a month till our due date, but I guess really s/he could come out to meet us in a few weeks! Wow so much to do.. back to the laundry piles, I think that is where I will be living form now on, especially since we are going to try and use cloth diapers. Wish us luck!

6 weeks to go...

This is all going by so fast, only 6 more weeks! This is all getting very exciting but we still have a lot to do.
cleaning cleaning cleaning...lots to clean
And Pesach is sooo soon, so much cleaning to get ready for Pesach. I am so excited to be here for Pesach this year and this will be Y's first Pesach in Israel. He always goes home to his family, like we did last year, this will be such a different experience for him!
We were already invited months ago for seder to a family down the street. As soon as they found out when we are due they invited us. It is unlikely that we will give birth during seder or even during Pesach but it is possible since we will be in our 37th week!

The excitement is just beginning!

1 year

1 year ago, depending on how you count either a week ago on Tu B'Shvat or today Y and I were married. So much has hanged for both of us over this year and we have both grown so much, well one of us more than the other. As my belly is growing, Y's seems to be getting smaller and smaller. Some people think I don't feed him, but really it is just that I am feeding him, yay for healthy food and mom's who teach me the importance of whole foods! Thank you mom!

Y I love you more with each day!

One thing that my grandmother told me, was that you have to love the person you marry. She would say to me about my grandfather z"l, "I love him so much, but sometimes he just drives me crazy." Thank you grandma, I quoted you on that this morning!

Too many many more happy years of growth together!
